Two CYTF teams, one from each playing division, remained unbeaten following Sunday's results.
The Dolphins went to 3-0 in the Junior Division with a 26-0 defeat of the previously unbeaten Broncos. The Falcons, playing a much-improved Chiefs team on the Senior Division side, came back from an early deficit and won 21-6. The Falcons improve to 3-0 and the Chiefs fall to 0-3.
In the other two matchups on the day, the Chargers won a high-scoring affair with the Bengals 32-22 and The Cowboys notched their first win of the year also over a much improved Vikings team 13-0.
Thinking Playoffs Yet?
Two team are getting closer to clinching a playoff spot and dates in the championship games at Houck Stadium on Halloween Day. The Dolphins are 3-0 entering week #4. With a win Sunday, they will clinch a spot in the championship game. The Broncos also has only one loss as well, and look good if they can continue to win the next two weeks. The Cowboys still have a shot at making it, but they must beat BOTH the Dolphins and the Broncos back to back in weeks 4 and 5 and then hope for some help along the way. Much may come down to tie-breaker formulas in the Junior Division, as much is still up in the air.
On the Senior Division side, the Falcons can almost assure themselves a spot with a win this Sunday. The Chargers, with their only loss coming to the Falcons earlier in the season, control their own destiny as well and can make the Championship game if they win out. The Bengals still have a chance, but need to win out to have a chance to make the championship game.
A lot can still happen, but stay tuned as the next two weeks and see what plays out for the championship games at Houck!
A Special "Thank You" from Coach Roy Diamond
Coach Roy Diamond (Junior Division - Cowboys) would like to thank his team and coaches for the generosity and caring given to his family during a recent death in the family.
