CYTF REGISTRATION DATES for Fall 2015

CYTF has announced their fall 2015 registration dates and times for the coming weeks. This will be the only times that you may register for CYTF football for the fall season.

All registration dates are held at the Osage Centre at 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, MO. The cost to register is $85.00/child. Cost includes rental of a helmet, shoulder pads, pants, and a mouthpiece. A game jersey is included in the pricing (can be kept by the child). Registration is open to those going into GRADES 2-7 (fall 2015). There are weight limits for this that can play.

CYTF to Present Awards at the "Celebration of Youth Sports Awards Banquet" on Friday, January 23

Join several of the CYTF administrators, coaches, and players and their families as CYTF presents several at the second annual "Celebration of Youth Sports Awards" Banquet on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Osage Center. CYTF will be presenting their Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, and Team of the Year at the ceremony.

You will need a ticket to attend and tickets are $10/adults and $8/child before January 16. You can purchase tickets at the Osage Centre or the Parks and Recreation main office at AC Brase Arena Building.

Dolphins and Giants Complete Perfect Seasons En Route to League Championships!

Both the Senior League Giants and Junior League Dolphins completed dream seasons at CYTF Championship Day Saturday by both going 6-0 during the season and both winning championships in convincing fashion.

The Giants used strong line play at the efforts of several players to spoil the Browns (3-3) hopes of a championship day by winning 36-0. Walker Daum and Tre Jones both scored multiple times to pace the undefeated Giants and to give Rodney Hurt his second consecutive championship as a coach.

The Dolphins came into the game unscored upon but gave up a long run to Steeler running back Chase Venable in the second quarter to cut the Dolphin lead to 206, but the Dolphin defense and offense, led by Clayton McClard, came back strong to finish off the Steelers (3-3). The victory was Coach Francis McClard's 4th CYTF Championship with both senior and junior division titles.

In the consolation games, an effective aerial passing attack from the Patriots (3-3) enabled them to easily defeat the Cowboys 59-0. Quarterback Sean Harold combined with several Patriot players to score in the game that was never close.

The Junior Division Eagles (2-4), behind great line play and effective running from Wyatt Dover and Bryson Thomas, defeated the 49ers (1-5) 30-6.

Thus ends the 2014 CYTF season. CYTF would like to thank all parents, players, family members and friends for the support during the 2014 season. A special shout out to out-going league commissioner Casey Sheehan as his term with CYTF ends this fall.

Casey has been instrumental in making CYTF the success that it is today. Casey had two kids go through the program and his countless efforts and hours of dedication have truly been evident. Congratulations Casey on 7 great years of involvement with CYTF!!!!!!!!  Its volunteers like Casey that make our community and program a much better place!

Clarification on Browns/Patriots Tiebreaker Scenerios

Both the Browns and Patriots are 2-2 and playing this Sunday for a chance to face the Giants on Championship day for the Senior Division title. Tiebreaker scenarios are as follows:

1. Head to Head
The Browns and Patriots have played twice and each won once. So this one is tied.

2. Points Given Up (PA)
The Browns have given up 61 points through 4 games and the Patriots 73.

Scenarios for Sunday:

1. If the Browns win and the Patriots lose, the Browns move onward.
2. If the Patriots win and the Browns lose, the Patriots move onward.
3. If BOTH teams win or lose on Sunday, the tiebreaker is points given up. Right now, the Browns are +12 over the Patriots.
4. If The second tiebreaker is tied, the third tiebreaker is points scored. Right now, the Patriots have scored one more point than the Browns.

We will soon find out who moved on to face the Giants.

Dolphins, Steelers and Giants All Clinch Champ Game Berths

Week #4 was played in sloppy field conditions and some standing took shape toward the back half of the CYTF season.

In the Junior Division, The Dolphins continued to roll and have yet to give up any points. They defeated the Eagles 33-0 on Sunday to clinch the #1 seed in the division. The Steelers clinched the #2 seed and a date against the Dolphins in the Championship game with a 36-6 win over the 49ers.

So, the Junior Championship Division will pit:

Junior Division Consolation Game - 49ers vs Eagles
Junior Division Championship Game - Dolphins vs Steelers

In the Senior Division, the Giants (4-0) 0kept on rolling with a 50-0 win over the Cowboys (0-4). The Giants secured a spot in the Championship Game with the win. The other spot will be decided this Sunday. Both the Patriots and Browns are 2-2 and have beaten each other once. It will come down to this weekend. The Patriots will play the Giants and will need a win to be in contention for the Championship Game. The Browns play the winless Cowboys and they too need a win to stay in contention. If both teams win or lose on Saturday, then a tie-breaker formula will be put into play. the next tiebreaker after head-to-head is Points Given Up. These are still being calculated.

Stay Tuned as Championship Day pairing will be announced on Monday, October 20!

In Week #3 - Giants and Dolphins Distance Themselves from the Pack.....

The Senior-Division Giants and the Junior Division Dolphins continued stellar play this past Sunday by both posting impressive wins.

The Giants shut down a good Browns team 32-0 on Sunday to go to 3-0 in the league. In the Juniors., the undefeated Dolphins breezed by the 49ers 43-0. The Dolphins have still yet to surrender a score to anyone in their league.

In other CYTF action from Sunday, the Steelers went to 2-1 on the season winning 20-14 over the Eagles in the best game of the day. In a battle of winless teams coming into last Sunday, The Patriots (senior Division) improved to 1-2 by defeating the Cowboys (0-3) 42-6.

CYTF SEMO Homecoming parade information! - THIS Saturday, October 4

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This year CYTF will be participating in the Southeast Missouri State University 2014 Homecoming Parade this Saturday, October 4th.  This is a special treat for the players and good exposure of our league to the local community!

 Here are some quick things to know!

1. All players will walk together as a single group, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.

2. The player must wear his game jersey.  Your player may wear blue jeans, t-shirt or sweatshirt (whatever will be weather appropriate for the morning.) 

3. Players must be dropped off near the corner of West End Blvd. and Normal Ave. (at Capaha Park) no later than 9am.  We will have Coach Rodney's truck in the parade so please look for the group!

4. The parade starts at 9:30am and will proceed down Broadway to Main Street and players must be picked up at the Main Street/Independence Street intersection.  For your information, it may be easier to view the parade from the Main Street area and then you're at the right spot to pick your player up.

5. While we are lining up and waiting for the parade to start, horse-play will not be tolerated.  We understand that the parade can be an exciting thing to do, but we must also remember that we are setting an example to the community and some of the sponsors that support our league.  So lets please be on our best behavior. 

6. The Cape Girardeau Police Department has issued a statement saying that parade participants may NOT throw candy during the parade.  Participants may only HAND candy out to those people sitting along the curb. The league will provide the candy to pass to the parade visitors.  There is no need to bring your own. Per CGPD: Those that do not comply will be removed from the parade route. This could also result in a possible game suspension, so we ask that your player please understand this.

7. Remember, this is a parade, let's have fun! We have a great opportunity to showcase the good character of the players of CYTF.

Week #2 Still Has Three Undefeated CYTF Teams

Under beautiful skies and great SEMO weather, Week #2 of the CYTF season saw three CYTF teams stay undefeated.

In the Junior Division, the Dolphins went to 2-0 with an impressive 39-0 win over the Steelers. It was the Steelers first loss. The Dolphins have yet to be scored upon and are averaging over 39 points a game thus far.

In the other Junior Division game today, the 49ers held off a furious Eagles rally and stopped the Eagles on the Niner 15 year-line to win 19-12.

In The Senior Division, The Browns and Giants are on a collision course in Week #3 as both teams wet to 2-0 on the season today. The Browns beat the winless Cowboys 26-6 while the Patriots made it close before falling to the Giants 18-12.

Showdowns set for CYTF Games on September 28

A battle for the top spot in the CYTF Junior Division will take place this Sunday as the Steelers (1-0) take on the Dolphins (1-0) in a battle for first place at 1:30PM. Each team won their opening contests this past weekend. The 3:30PM game will see a first time winner as the Eagles play the 49ers.

For the Senior Division, the Browns (1-0) look to stay perfect in the 1:30pm game as they face the Cowboys (0-1), who will look to avenge a tough outing this past weekend. The 3:30pm game sees the undefeated Giants (1-0) playing against the Patriots (0-1).

As a reminder all CYTF games will have available concessions and CYTF apparel on hand for families and CYTF friends to purchase!

Week #1 at CYTF Sees Lots of Great Youth Football Action!

Week #1 on Sunday, September 21 saw three teams with large victories and one that just squeaked by:

JUNIOR DIVISION:

Steelers 13 49ers 12

The Steelers came back from being down 12-0 and defeated the 49ers with a late touchdown and conversion with a 13-12 win.

Dolphins 40 Eagles 0

The Dolphins dominated the Eagles today 40-0 with quick play and long runs from scrimmage

SENIOR DIVISION:

Giants 60 Cowboys 0

The Giants used an effective running and passing game and a stifling defense that held the Cowboys to no first downs the entire game.

Browns 35 Patriots 7

The Browns scored on their first three possessions and led big throughout the game en route to a 35-7 win on opening day.

FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!!!!!!!

Hi Parents, friends and fans of CYTF Football! The season starts this Sunday! A few things that you need to know for this Sunday, September 21:

Welcome to the start of the 2014 CYTF regular season!

Week One features 1:30 games between Coach Frentress' 49'ers vs. Coach Bruce's Steelers in the Junior Division and Coach Mark's Patriots vs. Coach Wade's Browns in the Senior Division.

The 3:30 games feature Coach DeMardrae's Eagles vs. Coach Francis' Dolphins in the Junior Division and Coach Rodney's Giants vs. Coach Roy's Cowboys in the Senior Division.

Game jerseys will be passed out before your game.

As a reminder, the Dolphins are responsible for the concession stand during the first game and the Browns are responsible for the concession stand during the second game.

Pat Patterson will be on site for team and individual pictures before your game, so please try to have your player there an hour before their scheduled game time.

Our concession stand will also feature CYTF t-shirts (long and short sleeve) and sweatshirts for the fall football weather that is right around the corner!

Our annual Summer Conditioning Camp starts tomorrow - Tuesday, July 8 at the CYTF Fields in Shawnee Park (Cape Girardeau, MO). 12 session for $30.00 - not a bad deal!!!!!

You may register on-site if you'd like. Just download the form (Summer Conditioning Camp Registration Form)at the right and bring with you and remember to bring the following:

• WATER (you will do better with water than some sugary drink)
• Hat to keep sun off
• T-shirt and shorts (no pads are needed - this is a NON-CONTACT activity
• Cleats are preferable for grip and traction in the grass
• Towel

The camp is led by CYTF coaches and staff!!!!

CYTF also suggests that you register for TEXT ALERTS through the SE Missourian. Instructions on how are also listed in the "forms" section to the right!

CYTF Summer Conditioning Camp is Nearing this Summer!!!!!!

Fall is just around the corner and CYTF is gearing up for another fun filled and safe fall playing tackle football in our community.

Our annual CYTF Summer Conditioning Camp can assist your child getting him or her ready for the coming season. led by CYTF coaches, the summer conditioning camp will provide the following for your child:

• SAFE conditioning for your child. We will improve their fitness and get them ready for the fall?
• Advice and training for aspiring football players of all ages from our staff of coaches and helpers!
• This is a non-contact camp spread over 12 sessions! The actual cost to you is only $2.50/session!!!!! (total camp costs are $30.00/child or $15.00 for each additional sibling)
• The camp is open to kids ages 5-14 and is a great way to condition and prepare for the fall.

campers are asked to bring plenty of WATER to drink, a towel, shorts, t-shirt, and cleats (if they prefer - will do better in cleats rather than tennis shoes). The camp location is at the CYTF Fields in Shawnee Park (Cape Girardeau, MO).

Camp dates are always Tues/Thurs/Sun and are as follows:

Spring and Summer Camp Info for CYTF is Announced!

Happy Spring everyone! It's time to start thinking about football! As CYTF enters our 34th year serving Cape Girardeau and surrounding communities, we have two events that you can register your kids for.

• 2014 Spring Skills Camp - form included in the IMPORTANT FORMS section (to right)
• 2014 Summer Conditioning Camp - form included in the IMPORTANT FORMS section (to right)

Both of these events are very inexpensive ways to get to know CYTF and their coaches for 2014! It's also a great way to learn about some football if you've never played or to refine skills if you are a veteran player.

CYTF Hosting a Table at "Sign Up Saturday"

CYTF will have a table present at "Sign-Up Saturday at the Osage Centre on Saturday, March 8 from 10am - 1pm. While we will not be registering anyone at this point, we will have information available for our spring CYTF camps as well as dates and information for the summer/fall events.

Youth Sports Banquet Coming to Cape Girardeau!

Happy December to all CYTF'ers..... just a reminder about something new and VERY COOL coming to Cape in January! All of you are invited to attend.

The Cape Girardeau parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the first annual "Celebration of Youth Sports Awards Banquet" on Friday, January 24, 2013 at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau. A dinner will be served (Olive Garden) and several awards and presentation will be given to folks involv3ed with CYTF. This is a great idea to honor youth sports in our community so plan now to attend.

Tickets are $10 (adults) and $8 (kids 15 and younger) and are available at the AC Brase Arena Office and at the Osage Centre. The program expects to feature some awesome speakers and it promises to be a fun-filled evening of enjoyment for the whole family!
